Man Charged In February Gas Station Robbery In South Windsor
Tequan Colvin has been in police custody since being accused of committing a similar armed robbery in Winsted three days later, police said.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — An East Hartford man accused of robbing a Valero gas station on Sullivan Ave. in February was formally charged on a warrant Wednesday at Rockville Superior Court.
Tequan Colvin, 27, was brought to the courthouse by state judicial marshals, since he has been in custody since his arrest in connection with a similar robbery in Winsted three days after the South Windsor heist. He was charged with first-degree robbery, carrying a dangerous weapon, second-degree breach of peace and first-degree threatening. A $250,000 surety bond was set on the South Windsor charges, Sgt. Mark Cleverdon said.
An investigation into the Valero robbery determined Colvin brandished what turned out to be a BB gun. The South Windsor Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit was able to link Colvin to the incident after it was determined he committed the Winsted robbery. East Hartford police assisted with the investigation, and located Colvin and some of the items used in the robberies, including the BB gun and an orange ski mask, Cleverdon said.
