Man Shot, Suspect Flees On Route 5 In South Windsor
The shooting victim sustained injuries not believed to be life-threatening, according to the South Windsor police chief.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A man was shot by an unknown assailant early Sunday evening on Route 5 near the intersection of Strong Rod, and the shooter fled the scene, according to Police Chief Kristian Lindstrom.
The shooting took place just before 6 p.m., and the suspect fled in a dark colored 4-door sedan bearing New York license plates. The shooting victim was located in East Windsor, and was taken to a hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening, Lindstrom said.
Route 5 northbound at Strong Road is expected to be closed for several hours as an investigation continues. Lindstrom said there is no threat to the general public.
