Manchester Art Assoc. Juried Show at South Windsor Library

Show includes 74 varied works of art from 40 local artists.

The Manchester Art Association is currently conducting its 10th Annual Juried Members Art Exhibition at the South Windsor Public Library. This exhibit has filled the Friend’s Room of the library with 74 varied works of art from 40 members.

An opening and awards ceremony was held Oct. 6. The show’s co-chairs Nancy McIntire, Terri Butler, Robin Simpson and Eric Vogel announced the winners, handed out the awards and read comments by the show’s judge, Connecticut artist Jan Blencowe.

“…It is my pleasure to say that the artists represented in this exhibit show both a seriousness of purpose in their work and a level of creativity and exploration that is exciting and refreshing," Blencowe said."…It is good to see traditional work, thoughtful contemporary pieces, photography, and lesser known media like cut paper, printmaking, and assembled pieces given an equal place. This balanced mix creates an exhibit that is varied, lively, and a pleasure to view.”
