Narcotics Task Force Arrests East Hartford Man Attempting to Sell Cocaine
According to police, the man was caught when he tried to sell an undercover officer the drug during a meeting at a South Windsor apartment complex.
A 20-year-old East Hartford man was arrested and charged Wednesday with drug possession and attempting to sell drugs at the Mill Pond Apartment Complex.
According to police, members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force conducted a buy/bust operation in the parking lot of the apartment complex on Ellington Road on a cocaine dealer going by the name “Lou.”
“Lou” was later identified as Sharif Islam of 140 Chipper Drive, East Hartford, according to police.

Islam was taken into custody without incident after attempting to sell cocaine to undercover officers.
During the operation, task force members seized 3.1 grams of cocaine, and a 2000 Honda Accord. Task force members will also be applying for two separate arrest warrants for Islam, charging him with sale and possession of cocaine, police said. He was held on a $250,000 bond, according to the police.

The East Central Narcotics Task Force, in cooperation with other municipal, and federal law enforcement agencies, is interested in stopping illegal narcotics sales and use in the Manchester, South Windsor, Vernon, and Glastonbury communities.
