SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — We return today to the amazing picture book entitled Images of America: South Windsor, compiled in 2017 by Claire Lobdell for the Wood Memorial Library & Museum. The book, containing 128 pages of fascinating photos from the town's history, is available for purchase at the library's museum store here.

On page 67, we find an aerial photograph taken around 1960, depicting Sunnyside Farm in the center and a poultry farm owned by Leslie Collins in the background. Located appropriately at 8 Collins Lane, just off Sullivan Ave., the Collins family grew crops and raised dairy cows on the farm.

The large white farmhouse, built in 1869, contains five bedrooms among its 3,654 square feet of living space. The property is set on a 4-acre lot.
