SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — Time for another peek into an amazing picture book entitled Images of America: South Windsor, compiled in 2017 by Claire Lobdell for the Wood Memorial Library & Museum. The book, containing 128 pages of fascinating photos from the town's history, is available for purchase at the library's museum store here.

On page 72, we find an old photo of the Sadd Memorial Library, on the southeast corner of Buckland and Oakland roads in the Wapping section of town. Built in 1906, it was the first public library building in South Windsor. It also served for a stretch as a meeting place for an organization which promoted adult continuing education.

The library closed in the 1960s, and it currently utilized as private offices.
