South Windsor 2021 Patriotic Commission Essay Contest Announced
The contest is open to any South Windsor resident who is a student anywhere in grades K-12.

In connection with the Memorial Day commemoration activities to be held on Monday, May 31, 2021, the South Windsor Patriotic Commission is pleased to announce its annual essay contest for students in grades K-12. The contest is open to any South Windsor resident who is a student anywhere in grades K-12.

The contest features essay topics for three different grade levels, and posters for students in K-2:
Grades K-2
POSTER - Create a poster depicting "my favorite place in South Windsor" (maximum size 12” x 14”; written notes are not required and will not count toward judging)

Grades 3-5
ESSAY - Discuss the importance of celebrating patriotic holidays (300 words or less)
Grades 6-8
ESSAY - How can I promote patriotism? (350 words or less)
Grades 9-12
ESSAY - What it means to be an American (500 words or less)
All entries must be received by the Patriotic Commission no later than Monday, March 1, 2021. The entry form and additional details are included on the attached flyer.
