South Windsor Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash In Hartford

Hartford police said Carlos Rivera, 28, was killed after crashing his motorcycle near Hartford Hospital.

HARTFORD, CT — A motorcyclist struck a pole near Hartford Hospital early Thursday morning, killing the driver and injuring a passenger, according to Hartford police.

The crash took place at 3:21 a.m. at 500 Hudson St., less than a quarter-mile from the hospital. Police said a review of video footage showed Carlos Rivera lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the pole, throwing him and a passenger from the bike.

Rivera, 28, of South Windsor, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His passenger, an unidentified 22-year-old woman, sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said.
