Philip Walsh, 39, of East Hartford, faces several charges.

A 39-year-old East Hartford man is facing several charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a nursing home patient in July, according to South Windsor Police.

Philip Walsh, of 1841 Main St., was visiting his mother at the South Windsor nursing home when he allegedly went into a wheelchair-bound patient’s room and put his hand into her shorts, according to police spokesman Lt. Scott. Custer.

The woman yelled and Walsh left the room, Custer said.
