South Windsor Resident Killed In Construction Site Mishap
A restoration project on a Massachusetts parking garage turned tragic when part of the building collapsed, killing one and injuring another.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A construction site mishap Tuesday morning resulted in the death of a South Windsor resident who was pinned when a building collapsed in which he was working, according to police and fire officials in East Cambridge.
Christopher Stuck, 56, was removing metal railings on a fourth-floor stairway of the East Cambridge Garage on First St. during a restoration project around 8:23 a.m. Tuesday. Part of the parking garage collapsed, and Stuck fell and was pinned between the fallen stairway and the second floor. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to information provided by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Cambridge Fire Chief Gerry Mahoney and Cambridge Police Commissioner Branville Bard Jr.
A 41-year-old man also working on the project sustained critical injuries, and remains hospitalized. His identity has not yet been released.

Officials said no foul play is suspected, but the investigation continues by the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Cambridge Fire Department and the Cambridge Police Department. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is also conducting an independent investigation into the incident, according to authorities.
