South Windsor Resident, WWII Veteran to Receive Military Medals
Congressman John B. Larson will present the medals Friday.

South Windsor Veteran Runo Palmquist will be honored for his service to the United States during a medal presentation on Friday, Aug. 9.
Congressman John B. Larson will present Palmquist, 92, with military medals he earned serving in WWII, including the Bronze Star and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 bronze service stars, according to a news release.
Born in Sweden, Palmquist enlisted in the U.S. Army in August of 1943, and was active until January 1946.

The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Charles E. Enes Community Center, located at 150 Nevers Rd. in South Windsor.
