South Windsor Road Project To Affect Traffic

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - Eversource Gas will begin work to install a new gas main that will run south on Main St from Ferry Lane to Strong Road. It will then turn left (eastbound) onto Strong Rd and will be tied into another gas main on Route 5. This work is being done to enhance service capabilities to the new fuel cell being installed at the former Vulcan Radiator/Mestek building on Route 5, along with other larger customers in the area.

Roadway cutting and digging will begin on Monday, November 5th, work will be performed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Traffic will be restricted to one lane and will be alternated through the work zone. As the work approaches the culvert on Strong Road near Main St there may be a need for a full road closure. Any full road closures will be announced 72 hours in advance. Please avoid the area if possible.
