South Windsor Rocks Out to The Savage Brothers Band
The popular local band opened the town's summer concert series Thursday night at the Rockville Bank Park at The Promenade Shops at Evergreen Walk
As a red sun set over the shop roofs at Evergreen Walk, hundreds of people continued to dance, enjoy their picnic dinners and relax as the first of eight concerts kicked off the summer series.
The Savage Brothers, a popular local band that includes South Windsor teacher Tom Savage, played the likes of Bryan Adams' Summer of '69 and Rick Springfield's Jessie's Girl and got the professional and not-so-professional dancers up and out of their seats.
"I remember as a kid when they had concerts like this at the pavilion at Nevers Park," said Nikki Craig, who hung out toward the back of the lawn with Mike Craig and their dog Dakota, a boxer. "You brought a picnic blanket and a snack... it was just a nice thing to do with the community."
