South Windsor Teen Earns Spot on National Taekwondo Team

South Windsor resident Kelsey Junious recently competed in the 2013 USAT National Championships in Chicago, where she came away with two big victories.

Junious, 15, won the junior (15-17 years old) and the adult (17-32 years old) world class sparring female black belt divisions, according to a post on the Hartford Courant Web site.

She will now represent the United States at the Junior Pan Am Championships on Sept. 20-22 in Queretaro, Mexico, and has qualified for the adult national team trials, according to the post.

Junious trains at Styles United Transformative Martial Arts in South Windsor.
