South Windsor Unemployment Rate Below State Average

Unemployment has gone down throughout most of 2013.

After hitting high marks in early 2013, the unemployment rate for South Windsor has declined.

According to the latest figures released by the Connecticut Department of Labor, South Windsor's unemployment rate in November sat at 5.6 percent. That's 802 members of the town's 14,371-person workforce, according to the DOL.

Statewide, the DOL puts the state unemployment level for non-season jobs at 7.6 percent and, when accounting for seasonal employed, the number is at 6.9 percent.

In Connecticut, the pool of jobless people last month sat at 6.9 percent overall. Nationally, the United State's unemployment rate is 6.6 percent.
