Ted is Back! Golf Tournament, Top Dog, Bulky Waste

Good morning, South Windsor! Today is Tuesday, May 7, 2013; there are 241 days left in the year.

It's been a wonderful two weeks guest-editing South Windsor Patch, but I'm thrilled to inform you that your beloved local editor, Ted Glanzer, will be back in the saddle starting today.

Before I exit stage left, I want to thank you for your generous suggestions on the best place to get ice cream and take a walk in town and patience with me as I fumbled along covering your community. (Who knew that I'd ever write about a sport called pickleball?!)

So, thanks again South Windsor. I official turn this site back over into the capable hands of Candy Ninja Ted Glanzer. Be gentle on him, over the last two weeks he's had his hands full of his newborn son, also known as the best baby ever!

Here's your Daily 5:

1. Remember that the leaf drop off site at the town Public Works Garage, which has been open for spring cleanup, will close for the season on Friday, May 10.

2. This is the week of bulky waste collection!

3. Is your dog Top Dog? Enter for a chance to win the No. 1 South Windsor dog tag.

4. There is a child safety seat check on Wednesday morning at the South Windsor Fire Headquarters on Ellington Road.

5. The South Windsor Lions Charity Golf Tournament is today! It starts at 9 a.m.
