Witnesses Sought In South Windsor Route 5 Shooting Case
South Windsor police have released additional information in a Route 5 shooting case.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — South Windsor police are looking for witnesses as they continue to investigate a Sunday evening shooting on Route 5
The incident involved two distinctly different cars.
According to an updated report issued Monday, at 5:33 p.m., a red 1987 Suzuki Samurai was leaving a car show at 310 Nutmeg Road South and was stopped in the left turn lane on the Northbound side of John Fitch Boulevard at its intersection with Strong Road.

A charcoal gray Mercedes 4-door sedan with dark tinted windows and a "yellow license plate" that could even be New York orange pulled up along the passenger side of the Suzuki, a report indicates.
A back seat passenger in the Mercedes then started firing a hand gun, according to a report.

The Suzuki was struck twice and a single passenger in the vehicle was also struck, according to a report.
The Mercedes then left the scene, heading northbound on Rte. 5, according to a report.
The shooter was described only as "a light skinned black or hispanic male," a report indicates.
Anyone who witnessed anything in relation to the shooting, or saw the suspect vehicle in the area of either John Fitch Boulevard, Nutmeg Road South or Governors Highway, is being asked to contact Officer Christopher Poehnert at
