STAFFORD-WILLINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • Eastern Connecticut State University recently released its summer 2019 Dean's List for part-time students. Among the students is Joseph Almquist of Willington, who majors in English. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must be in a good academic standing and obtain a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • The Concert Band at Eastern Connecticut State University is amid its fall 2019 season of performance. This instrumental ensemble performs classic band literature as well as challenging works from contemporary composers. Among the student musicians are
    Erica Christofferson of Stafford Springs, who majors in Music and plays the alto saxophone, and Tristan Reiss of Stafford Springs, who majors in Business Administration and Criminolgy and plays percussion.
  • The men's soccer team at Eastern Connecticut State University recently began its fall 2019 season, with 11 new players and 20 returning players. Among them are Zachary Kulman of Stafford Springs, number 2, who majors in Sport & Leisure Management and plays defense; Jackson Toomey of Willington, number 6, who majors in Communication and plays midfield; and William Toomey of Willington, number 12, who majors in Health Sciences and plays midfield.
  • The women's field hockey team at Eastern Connecticut State University recently began its fall 2019 season, with nine new players and 16 returning players. Among the student athletes on this year's team is number 12, Devin Godbout of Willington, who majors in Health Sciences. Godbout plays midfield. This is her second year with the team.
  • The women's soccer team at Eastern Connecticut State University recently began its fall 2019 season, with eight new players and 18 returning players. Among the student athletes on this year's team is number 5, Carlie Dreyfus of Stafford Springs, who majors in Psychology. This is Dreyfus's second year playing as an Eastern Warrior. Her position on the field is midfield. Some of Dreyfus' soccer career highlights include appearing in 16 games, where she averaged 28 minutes per game and appearing in 8 LEC regular season games.
