Car Slams Into Grain Silo In Stafford

STAFFORD, CT — A car hit an old, abandoned grain silo in Stafford in an early morning crash Saturday.

The incident took place at 1:40 a.m, according to a crash report.

A 2012 Mazda 3s was traveling east on Hopyard Road in Stafford and the driver, a 20-year-old Stafford woman, "failed to negotiate" a curve, state police said.

The Mazda then slid across the westbound lane and eventually slammed into the silo, state police said.

The driver sustained a minor injury, a crash report indicates.
