College Students From Stafford, Willington Achieve Milestones

Some recent notable accomplishments by college students who live in Stafford and Willington.

STAFFORD-WILLINGTON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic CT

  • The women's volleyball team at Eastern Connecticut State University recently began its 2019 fall season, with four new players and 13 returning players. Among the student athletes is number 2, Lydia Niderno of Willington, who majors in Communication and plays middle hitter. This is Niderno's fourth year playing as an Eastern warrior.
  • Nearly 100 students are participating in Eastern Connecticut State University's highly selective University Honors Program this 2019-20 academic year. Of these students is William Toomey of Willington, who majors in Health Sciences. This is Toomey's second year in the program. The Honors Program accepts highly motivated and academically driven students. When accepted into the program, students are required to complete several additional classes, including a capstone course in which students complete a thesis based around their academic major.

  • Goodwin College's President's List for the summer 2019 session includes 230 students, all of whom scored a perfect 4.0 GPA. Local honorees are Peter Wilson of Stafford, Brittany Bassett of Willington and Kristine Holland of Willington.
