STAFFORD, CT — Construction work has started on a long-anticipated veterinary hospital in front of the Big Y Plaza on Route 190, a second location for an animal care business which has been thriving since opening in Tolland less than five years ago.

Scott and Heidi Morey are the owners of Fenton River Veterinary Hospital, which opened in 2015 in the Fieldstone Commons plaza on Route 195 in Tolland, and expanded into an adjacent storefront earlier this year.

In Dec. 2018, the Stafford Planning and Zoning Commission approved a plan for the Moreys to build a second hospital in their new hometown of Stafford. Plans call for a 7,400 square foot building, with 5,800 square feet on the ground level and an additional 1,600 square feet of administrative office space on the second floor.
