STAFFORD, CT — Construction work on a new Tractor Supply store is progressing well, in anticipation of a fall opening of the chain's 18th Connecticut location.

The site at 54 West Stafford Road, which formerly housed an antiques shop and a pair of homes, was cleared in June, and the majority of the 19,097 square foot building has been erected. Upon its Feb. 26 approval by the Stafford Planning and Zoning Commission, company officials said they hoped to be open sometime this fall.

A pet washing station is planned as part of the new store, and more than 21,000 square feet of display space will be outside the building.
