Coronavirus Stafford: Second Elderly Man Dies of Complications

There are now eight deaths confirmed in Connecticut due to complications from the coronavirus.

STAFFORD, CT — A second person in his 80s who had been hospitalized and confirmed positive for the new coronavirus has died, according to an update provided by Gov. Ned Lamont Sunday.

The unidentified man had been a resident of Evergreen Health Care Center and was recently hospitalized at adjacent Johnson Memorial Hospital.

No further information was immediately available.

The two recent deaths at Johnson bring Connecticut's total to eight persons who have passed of complications from the respiratory illness. Five are in Fairfield County, while the other occurred over the weekend in Hartford County.
