Domestic Charges Lead To 4th Arrest For Stafford Pawn Gun Thefts

VERNON, CT — A domestic arrest in Vernon on Wednesday turned into a fourth suspect being charged in connection with the September theft of guns from a Stafford pawn shop.

At 8:21 p.m. Wednesday, police arrested 27-year-old Adam Miller on three counts of violating a protective order when he was located at a Linden Place home in Vernon, a report says.

He was held overnight on a $50,000 bond.

After his arraignement Thursday in Rockville Superior Court, Miller was charged by state police with 16 felonies:

  • Conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary
  • Conspiracy to steal firearms (seven counts)
  • Criminal possession of a firearm (seven counts)
  • Conspiracy to commit first-degree criminal mischief

The case dates back to Sept. 15, when officers from the Stafford Resident Trooper's Office were dispatched to the Simon Says Pawn Shop at 44 West Stafford Road for the report of a burglary.

Troopers discovered that seven handguns were taken from the establishment. An investigation involving state, municipal and federal authorities ensued and several warrants were secured, state police said.

A third suspect was also arrested by state police Thursday via a warrant, bringing the court to four in the case.

All four suspects have been identified and federally indicted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms for various weapons charges related to the case, state police said.
