STAFFORD SPRINGS, Conn. (September 21, 2020) – Johnson Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce it has been named a 2020 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey. The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have achieved the 95th percentile or above for performance in Patient Experience.

The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors clients who consistently sustained performance in the top 5% of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year.

Johnson Memorial Hospital received the 2020 Guardian of Excellence Award® for Patient Experience in the Emergency Department (ED) by achieving the 95th percentile or higher for designated survey measures, including "likelihood to recommend," overall rating, and teamwork. Consideration for the award also included Johnson's ratings on ED CAHPS, the Emergency Department Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey, as developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to measure patients' experience of ED care.
