Sexual Assault Charges Lodged Against Stafford Man
Two girls reported numerous instances of sexual abuse dating back to when one was only 7 years old, according to an affidavit.

STAFFORD, CT — A Stafford resident was arrested Tuesday on a warrant charging him with more than a dozen counts of first-degree sexual assault, following a lengthy investigation by state police into complaints brought by a pair of now-teenage girls.
William Flint, 37, was taken into custody at his home around 12:40 p.m. He was charged with 14 counts of first-degree sexual assault, two counts of risk of injury to a child and one count of second-degree unlawful restraint. Bond was set at $350,000, and he was slated to be arraigned Wednesday in Hartford Superior Court.
According to a heavily redacted 19-page affidavit supporting Flint's arrest, a pair of girls, now aged 13 and 14, reported being sexually abused by Flint on multiple occasions, beginning in July 2014, when one victim was as young as 7, with the last assault occurring in Jan. 2020. The warrant indicates the abuse took place in various locations, including a trailer park, an apartment and a campground.

One victim reported during at least one assault, "Flint placed his hands on her shoulders, pinning her to the bed, and over her mouth to prevent her from making any noise in an attempt to call for help, which unlawfully restrained her in a position where she could not escape," according to the affidavit.
Flint was contacted by state police in April, requesting him to come into Troop C in Tolland for an interview regarding the allegations. He declined to speak with the trooper, saying he would not go to the troop and that he had hired an attorney. Flint's attorney informed police her client was instructed to not speak with them regarding the case, but he would turn himself in when an arrest warrant had been signed, according to the affidavit.
