Stafford Crash Caused By Passing Attempt: Report
A crash that left a driver with serious injuries and closed a section of Route 30 last week was caused by a passing attempt, police said.

STAFFORD, CT — A crash that left a driver with serious injuries and closed a section of Route 30 last week was caused by a passing attempt, police said.
A report was made available Monday.
The crash took place at 7:50 a.m. on May 29, and took place on Route 30 according to a report.

According to a report, a 2008 Chverolet Tahoe 1500 driven by 40-year-old Juliana Yeager was traveling north on Route 30, about seven-tenths-of-a-mile south of Cemetery Road. A vehicle on the opposite side slowed down to avoid a head-on collision after seeing the Tahoe pull out in an attempt to pass the vehicle in front of it, according to a report.
A witness said he heard a loud bang and then saw that the Tahoe and slammed into a tree, according to a report.

Fire officials said one person — Yeager — was transported to Hartford Hospital with "severe" injuries after being cut out of the vehicle. She was no longer listed as a patient Monday.
Route 30 was closed in both directions for some time near the crash scene. The road was re-opened at 9:42 a.m.
