$1 Leases Renewed For Museums, Arts Center In Tolland
Three popular buildings in Tolland have their leases in order fr the next decade.

TOLLAND, CT — The Tolland Town Council this week approved new, 10-year leases for three buildings run by two prominent organizations.
The leases will run from April 1 of this year to March 31, 2031 ar a rate of one buck each year.

- The Tolland Historical Society for 52 Tolland Green, the Old Tolland County Jailhouse and Museum and the home of the society
- The military museum at 749 Tolland Stage Road, run by the historical society
- The Arts of Tolland building at 22 Tolland Green, run by Arts of Tolland
Historical Society Director Kathleen Bach told the council she believes the relationship between the town and the society, in the case of both museums has, been a" good and collegial" one.
"The town has been wonderful in maintaining the properties on the outside and the society has done its best to maintain the inside through restoration and renovation and has invested heavily in both museums," Bach said.

Council chairwoman Tammy Nuccio said the buildings play a role in "keeping Tolland's historical references and history alive."
Council member Steve Jones cited the active social media features of the society during the coronavirus pandemic like "Guess the Artifacts" program.
Council member Brenda Falusi called the museums "an integral part of the Town Green and an asset to the town."
Council member Lou Luba called them, "a true tribute to the Town of Tolland."
Nuccio had equal praise for Arts of Tolland. he building is known is historical circles at the Old Town Hall.
"It is a great use of an old town building," she said. "(Arts of Tolland) has done an amazing job of maintaining the building and bringing in some great shows."
