A Week's Worth Of Storms, Then Elsa, Lead To Flooding In Tolland
Several Roads were flooded in Tolland after Tropical Storm Elsa let go a lot of rain following a storm a day all week.

TOLLAND, CT — Rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Elsa, preceded by a Thunderstorm every night this week led to several roads being flooded in Tolland, fire officials said.
Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director John Little said, at 1 p.m. Friday, the roads with water on them included:
- 50 block of Goose Lane - flooding
- Tolland Stage Road at South River Road - water issues
- 120-130 block of Shenipsit Lake Road - road underwater
- 90 block & 100 block of Old Stanford Road - water on road
- 70 block of Charter Road - heavy water on road
- 70 block of Skungamaug Road - water on road
- Cider Mill Road at Grant Hill - water on road
- Cider Mill Road at Crandall Park - water on road
So, how much water was around at the end of the week? According to statistics at the regional water treatment plant on the Hockanum River in Vernon, a typical daily water flow is 4-to-5 million gallons. Friday's readings showed 12 million gallons flowing through the plant.

Also Friday, from morning into the afternoon, Grant Hill Road was closed from Gehring Road to New Road because of low-hanging wire that were blocking the road, Littell said. The 100 block of Cedar Swamp Road was closed when a tree came down, he said.
