Bouncing Tire Wreaks Havoc On A Tolland Street

TOLLAND, CT — A bouncing tire wreaked havoc on a Tolland Road Thursday.

The incident took place late Thursday morning on Reed Road, state police said.

According to a report, a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by a 47-year-old Ellington man was traveling south on Reed Road near the intersection with Carter Drive.

The driver's side rear wheel fell off the Chevrolet and hit the front end of a 2015 Dodge Ram truck driven by a 47-year-old Tolland man traveling north, according to a report.

The wheel then became lodged underneath the Dodge, according to a report.

Just minor damage was reported, state police said.

The driver of the Chevrolet was cited for an unsecure load, according to a report.
