Busted Drive Shaft Causes 3-Car Wreck In Tolland

A dropped driveshaft was the cause of a three-vehicle crash on Interstate-84, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A dropped driveshaft was the cause of a three-vehicle crash on Interstate-84 early Friday morning, state police said.

The crash took place at 4:39 a.m. when three vehicles were traveling in the center lane on the westbound side of the highway in Tolland, state police said.

The drive shaft broke in two places on one of the vehicles and fell into the road, according to a report. A second vehicle hit the drive shaft and caromed into the third vehicle, according to a report.
