Driver Clocked At 122 MPH On I-84, Found With $50K: Police
Gabriel Omar Cosme-Silva, of Hartford, was caught speeding through north-central Connecticut, Connecticut State Police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A driver with $50,000 in cash in his vehicle was caught speeding through north-central Connecticut at 122 mph, according to Connecticut State Police from the Troop C barracks, a report indicates.
Gabriel Omar Cosme-Silva, 21, of Hartford, was headed eastbound through Tolland County on Friday morning, police said. A trooper was positioned near Exit 72 in Union with laser equipment and clocked Cosme-Silva traveling at a "high rate of speed" that translated to 122 mph, police said. Police stopped Cosme-Silva near Exit 73 at 10:43 a.m.
A probable cause search of the car led to the discovery of two duffel bags containing $50,000, police said. Officers confiscated the money to investigate its origin, according to a report.

Cosme-Silva was charged with reckless driving and failure to drive in the proper lane.
He is due in court Aug. 3.
