Car Knocks Down Pole, Wires In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — A car hit a pole on Anderson Road in Tolland Wednesday morning.

Fire officials said the crash took place at about 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Anderson Road and Goose Lane.

A pole and wires landed in the road and repair crews were on their way to the scene, fire officials said.

The driver was "successfully extricated" from the car and transported to a local hospital, fire officials said.

A crew from Eversource Energy went to the scene and fire officials estimated repairs would last into the early evening hours.
