TOLLAND,CT — A car took out a fire hydrant in Tolland over the weekend, a state police report indicates.

The crash took place at 5:32 p.m. Sunday on Kate Lane near Rupps Road in Tolland, according to a report. A 2016 Audi C5 driven by a 21-year-old Ellington man was traveling South on Kate Lane, according to a report.

The driver lost control of the vehicle on a curve and the car spun 90 degrees to the left before hitting the hydrant, state police said.

The hydrant broke off at the base after being hit by the passenger side of the Audi, according to a report.
