TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — A wild chase Tuesday that began at 112 mph and ended with a rammed cruiser and three law enforcement dogs corralling three suspects broke up a would-be vehicle burglary operation, state police said.

At 5:06 p.m., a trooper stationed near Exit 66 on Interstate-84 in with a laser unit picked up a 2016 Cadillac STX heading into Tolland County, according to a report. The trooper quickly caught up to the Caddy and discovered it had been stolen out of Newington several days earlier, according to a report.

The pursuit traveled through Vernon and Tolland, off the highway at Exit 71 and onto Jared Sparks Road in Willington.

State police dropped "stop sticks" onto the road there and the car's two passenger-side tires were punctured, according to a report. As troopers were boxing the Cadillac in, the driver, identified as 21-year-old Luis DeJesus, then rammed a state police cruiser in the rear before spinning to a halt in a local yard, a report indicates.

Police dogs Rocky and Drago were able to apprehend three of car's occupants and canine Jay found another suspect nearby, who had stopped at a local home and requested to use a phone, according to a report.

DeJesus, who authorities said lives in Tolland, was being held on a $100,000 bond Wednesday morning. He was charged with:

  • Engaging police in a pursuit
  • Reckless driving
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Failure to drive in the proper land
  • Risk of injury to a child
  • Possession of burglary tools
  • Thurs-degree criminal trespass
  • First-degree criminal mischief
  • First-degree larceny
  • Second-degree criminal trover
  • Attempt to assault a public safety officer

State police charged 19-year-old Trinity Jade Favoccia, of New Britain, with interfering and conspiracies to commit both first-degree larceny and to possess burglary tools. She posted a $10,000 bond and is due in court on Feb. 10.

Kenny Ortiz, 18, of New Britain, was being held on a $50,000 bond with another $30,000 bond being activated because of a probation violation, state police said. For the case, he was charged with:

  • Possession of burglary tools
  • Third-degree criminal trespass
  • Conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny
  • Interfering

State police said a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl were also in the car. They were issued juvenile summonses and released to their parents.

State police determined, after questioning, that the group was on its way to burglarize and steal vehicles in Tolland County, according to a report.
