Good Afternoon,
I recently received notice from a member of our school community indicating they tested positive for COVID-19.
I notified the local health department as is protocol. The local health department reported to me that no official result was yet in the data system for the state, however, the health department thought it prudent to execute a case contact investigation. This investigation occurred, and the results were that the risk to the school community in this situation appears to be very low.
The Eastern Highlands Health District also informed me that we can expect a number of these cases over the coming weeks. EHHD suggested reviewing the CDC site, including the links how to protect ourselves from the spread.
In following the guidelines of the State and Federal government, we as a town, school system, and community are working collectively to protect each other.
Sincerely,
Superintendent Willett
