Downed Wires Force Road Closure, Knock Out Power In Tolland
Wires came crashing down in an area of Tolland Wednesday

TOLLAND, CT — Repairs to downed wires on Old Cathole Road in Tolland were expected to last well into the early part of Thursday morning, local fire officials said.
The wires came down at about 3:30 p.m. as a thunderstorm rolled through town.
The north side of Old Cathole Road was promptly closed between Farmbrook Drive and Center Road while repairs began, fire officials said.

No injuries were reported.
Eversource Energy was estimating a 12-hour repair. Old Cathole Road was to be closed until repairs are complete.

Eversource was reporting 85 customers without power in Tolland at the time of the incident.
