Drive-By Memorial Service Slated For Tolland HS Football Coach

TOLLAND, CT — A drive-by memorial service has been scheduled for Sunday to honor late Tolland High School football coach Scott Cady.

The service is slated from noon to 2 p.m. on Sunday at Tolland High School and is designed to be a "celebration of Coach Cady's life." Those wanting to pay their respects can drive along the designated route and briefly stop at a memorial.

THS game-day music will be playing.

Those participatuing must stay in their vehicles.

Cady died on April 23 "with his family by his side," School officials said Cady served as head varsity coach for the past two seasons and was an assistant coach with the Eagles for three seasons prior to taking the helm.

He was also a coach at the youth level, Superintendent of Schools Walter Willett said.

"Coach Cady has made a profound and positive impact on many families and children in the Tolland community," he said. "Coach Cady leaves a legacy of players who performed at the highest levels, and who respect and love him. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the Cady family and relations."
