Eversource Utility Workers Get Vaccines At Tolland Center
Electric utility works received coronavirus shots in Tolland Wednesday via Vernon's regional mobile vaccination unit.

TOLLAND, CT — Utility workers at Eversource Energy's Tolland work center received their first doses of the cornavirus vaccine Wednesday as part of the town of Vernon's "Getting Vax to Business" program.
The work center on Tolland Stage Road serves north-central Connecticut and beyond. It's one of a dozen Eversource operates throughout the sate.
Eversource spokesman Mitch Gross said about 30 had signed up for the Moderna vaccines. The workers remanded from line workers to meter readers to meter technicians to flaggers to maintenance workers to those operating the storerooms, Gross said.

"Today, we are vaccinating people with all types of occupations within he Eversouse family," Gross said. "hey al have different jobs, yet they all have one thing in common — they're essential."
The clinic is scheduled to return to the Eversource work center in a month for the staffers' second doses.

Vernon officials have teamed up with Ellington-based Priority Urgent Care to make the shots available. The "Getting Vax to Business" campaign has included stops at Rein's Deli and the main Swiss Cleaners plant in Vernon, Oak Ridge Farm in Ellington and Eversource.
Stops on the regular tour have included houses of worship, the Vernon Senior Center, a mobile home park for the elderly and social services agencies.
