The Friends of Tolland Public Library Donate Dictionaries

Every third grader in Tolland Intermediate School has received a free dictionary.

Each third- grade student in Tolland Intermediate School recently received a dictionary from The Friends of the Tolland Public Library. This is the fifth year the Friends have participated in the nation-wide Dictionary Project. Since its start in 1992, the organization has created a network responsible for gifting over 18 million dictionaries to children at a crucial stage in literacy learning. Besides the educational use, the dictionaries are also a statement of support from the community, promotes awareness of the library and encourages students to become successful, lifelong learners. The Friends are pleased to offer assistance in the education of Tolland’s children.
