Letter: Endorsing Colleen Yudichak in Tolland

To the Editor:

I am very pleased to write this letter on behalf of Colleen Yudichak, a candidate for re-election to the Tolland Board of Education.

For the past 14 years, Colleen and her husband have called Tolland home for themselves and their two children.

It has been my good fortune to have met her nine years ago when our daughters were in preschool together. Since I have known her,Colleen has worked tirelessly on behalf of both her own childrenand for the children of our community to have access to the best education possible.

Colleen’s presence is felt throughout Tolland as an active community member. Her dedication and perseverance in always seeking out the best resources for the children of our town has been evidenced in her work for three years on our PTO, acting as co-president for one of those years, and her work as an active member of the Board of Education, also for three years. She is always open for discussion with parents, friends, and community members, taking the time to listen to any concerns and answer any questions. She is truly a voice for the families of Tolland.

Working as a team with other community members and collaborating on new programs in our schools to continue offering the most innovative teaching practices, as well as seeking out ways to generate future income for the needs of our schools, are just a few examples of why I believe it is necessary for her to maintain her position on our Board of Education.

I am proud to call her my friend and I am confident in her ability to be a voice for my children as we navigate through this challenging budget crisis. Please join me in voting for Colleen Yudichak on Nov. 7.
