TOLLAND, CT — To The Editor:
It is my pleasure to recommend Dana Philbin as a candidate for the Board of Education for the Town of Tolland, CT. I have known Dana on a personal and professional level for the better part of two decades.
During the eight years Dana and I worked together, I was able to see her problem solving and decisionmaking skills first hand. Dana’s approach to each situation, whether an employee relations matter or a difficult business decision, was always consistent, straightforward and comprised of input from the various individuals involved.

Dana brought compassion and a sincere desire to make the right decision every day; she stood by her decisions even when vigorously challenged by employees and other members of management. From our days working together until now, Dana and I have formed a strong personal friendship that spans almost 20 years.
I am fully confident in Dana’s abilities to approach the issues facing the Board of Education with the same compassion and decision-making she exhibited during our years working together, with the additional lens of being a parent to two wonderful children. I know she will passionately devote her time to the Board of Education and will work tirelessly to meet the needs of each and every student within the Tolland school system.
