Letter: Supporting Holt In Tolland

A Patch letter to the editor.

(Chris Dehnel/Patch)

TOLLAND, CT — To The Editor:

I am pleased to see that Anthony “Tony” Holt is running for the Tolland Board of Education. I

support our public schools and respect those, such as Tony, that take strides to become a part
of a team that is dedicated to providing a positive educational environment and future for the
community.

Having three boys has shown me there is great diversity of learning abilities among children and
it is of great importance to ensure all children are appropriately served. My oldest flourishes in
honors and advanced placement classes, my middle son struggles educationally in special
education and my youngest performs on grade level. Through them, I have been able to see
where public schools shine and where improvements are needed. I am encouraged to know,
that if Tony is elected, he will listen to the concerns of those in the community and will actively
respond in the best interest of all students of all learning abilities. That is the type of person I
know Tony is.

We have known each other for over 30 years having been military children
following each other overseas and different states. We also attended the same university as
young adults. Throughout all the years, Tony has always been passionately committed to all his
life pursuits and the Tolland Board of Education would benefit having a person of his character
joining them.
