Letter: Supporting Schenher In Tolland

A Patch letter to the editor.

(Chris Dehnel/Patch)

TOLLAND, CT — To the Editor:

Kurt Schenher has my support to be elected as member of the Tolland Town Council on November 5th.

One might think that his age is a concern, but I believe that this exactly what is needed as
Tolland continues to change and advance. We need a new voice to express the concerns and goals of younger citizens that are looking to make Tolland their home.

For the past two years, Kurt has proven himself to be a dedicated Town servant on the Planning and Zoning Commission. His experience on the Commission has given him very valuable insight to the changing character of the Town, and the requirements that will help us thrive as a community in the future.

Kurt has shown himself to be an independent and and thoughtful member of the commission. He has been great in asking important questions and driving to the solution that will benefit the town, not just match his personal opinions. When you look closely, you will find that while Kurt is younger than the other candidates, he actually more experience listening to our citizens and
governing for our citizens than almost all of the other candidates for Town Council.

As a recent graduate of UConn, Kurt has first hand experience how Tolland has been able to prepare him for his work future. Kurt is the exact example of what we are looking for in our leaders: he was raised here, was educated here, has served here and is looking to stay here.

He is fully committed to the success of all Tolland citizens.

I fully support Kurt's candidacy for the Town Council.
