A mail carrier is credited with saving a Tolland woman’s life, reports NBC Connecticut.

Because of this, Paul Horton received a national hero award on Tuesday morning.

A woman on Horton’s route had fallen in her driveway on a 7-degree day this winter. Horton called emergency responders and kept the woman warm until help arrived.

Had the woman spent another 15 or 20 minutes outside - she had already been on the ground for an hour - she could have died.
