Memorial Parade Alternative Being Promoted In Tolland For 2021
Tolland will be improvising for Memorial Day in 2021.

TOLLAND, CT — The Tolland Permanent Celebration Committee is promoting an alternative event for Memorial Day instead of a traditional parade.
The committee is again issuing a callout for Tolland residents to create a display in their yards — visible from the street — to show their "appreciation for our fallen service members," or highlight a branch of the military.
This year's theme is "On The Wings of Freedom."

The Veterans Memorial Wall in Town Hall, The Old Jailhouse Museum, the Tolland Military Museum, the Hicks-Stearns Museum, and the Founders Memorial, located at the north end of the Green, will be featured.
A combination of Boy Scouts, the Tolland Veterans Commission and the American Legion will be taking part in a traditional wreath-laying ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial on the green and at the white cross, a symbol of the unknown fallen soldiers.
The ceremony will be recorded and posted on the Permanent Celebration Committee Facebook page. The Tolland High School Band will also perform during the ceremony.
Tolland Girl Scouts will help set up our red, white and blue luminaries on the Green.
The luminaries will stay lit through Tuesday night.
