'Outside Fire' Breaks Out In Tolland Thursday
Firefighters in Tolland were battling an outdoor fire Thursday.

TOLLAND, CT — What emergency responders termed an "outside fire" broke out on Old Post Road in Tolland Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported at about 2:20 p.m.
Fire officials said it was on the 300 block of Old Post Road.

The fire began in a 50-foot-by-50-foot area, but was rapidly spreading into some nearby woods, fore officials said.
Just one lane of traffic on Old Post was open for a good part of the afternoon.

The forest fire danger level had been high all week with warm temperature and relatively dry conditions, according to fire officials.
