The station was originally a two bay station, but over the years the Tolland Fire Department added more pieces of apparatus to the fleet. A third bay was added in 1973 prior to the delivery of a 2,000-gallon tanker. A fourth bay was added in 1981, along with a rear work room, to accommodate the fire apparatus from the Dunn Hill Road firehouse that closed that year.
A small extension to the rear of bays three and four was added in 1990 prior to the delivery of Tolland’s first aerial ladder truck in 1991.
