Republican and Democratic Candidates Selected in Tolland

Party members met on Thursday to decide who will run in the fall.

William Eccles earned an endorsement and is the only incumbent Republican Town Council member up for reelection. The remaining council nominees include Board of Education member Joseph Sce, Zoning Board of Appeals member Robert Green, and Board of Assessment Appeals member Jeanne Schroeder.

For the Board of Education, incumbents Robert Pagoni, Steven Clark, and Colleen Yudichak are seeking reelection. Joining them are newcomers Michelle Harold and Jeffrey Schroeder.

One Republican rescinded his candidacy after he was nominated without his permission. Brian Foley, who is the Deputy Police Chief in Hartford, said it was never his intent to commit to running for public office, citing his responsibilities with the police department. On Thursday, he said he was “exploring running,” but on Friday, he reconsidered.

For the Democrats, Town Council incumbents Richard Field and Paul Krasusky are seeking reelection. Newcomers running for the council include Planning and Zoning Commission alternate member David Skoczulek and Kristen Morgan.

Democratic Board of Education incumbents seeking reelection are Chairman Sam Adlerstein, Vice Chairman Patrick Doyle, Thomas Frattaroli, Kathy Gorsky, and Karen Moran. Joining them is newcomer Cliff Vachon.
