TOLLAND, CT — The lineup for this year's paving season has been announced in Tolland.

This year’s streets to be paved are Weigold Road and South River Road (from Route 74 to approximately 250 feet south of Anthony Road). Both roads are to receive the cold in place treatment and will then be capped with a 2-inch overlay.

Cold in place resurfacing involves grinding between 2 and 5 inches of pavement off the top of a road and mixing the crushed asphalt with an asphalt recycling agent. It is then placed back down with a paver.

Also scheduled for resurfacing are Carter Drive and Glenview Terrace. Crews are slated to use a full depth reclamation process. Both of the projects are slated to begin in June.

Full depth recycling, also known as full depth reclamation, is a process that rebuilds worn out asphalt pavements by recycling pieces of the existing roadway.

The rear parking lot at Cross Farms is to me milled and paved this season as well.

Crews have been busy with tree trimming, patching of roadways and preparing for the re-grading of the town's unimproved gravel roads.
